Son Tra District receives Second-class Labour Medal from State President

The Son Tra administration on Saturday held a ceremony to celebrate the 25th founding anniversary of the district (January 23, 1997 - 2022) and receive a Second-class Labour Medal awarded by the Vietnamese State President in recognition for its outstanding achievements during the 2016 – 2020 period and contributions to the cause of protecting the country.

Head of the Publicity and Training Department of the municipal Party Committee Doan Ngoc Hung Anh and municipal People's Council Vice Chairwoman Cao Thi Huyen Tran attended the event.

Secretary of Son Tra District Party Committee Tran Thang Loi affirmed that, over the past 25 years, the district’s government and people have done well in promoting the revolutionary tradition, upholding the spirit of the solidarity and creativity to overcome difficulties, boost economic development, the socio-cultural life and write new pages of glorious history in the cause of national construction and defence.

As for its outstanding achievements, Son Tra has seen the rapid speed of urbanisation, drastic infrastructure construction and urban embellishment. The district has affirmed its stature as a spacious, clean, beautiful and civilised new urban area.

The local economy has achieved outstanding and comprehensive achievements, having moved in a positive direction. In particular, the strongly- developed tourism service has become the spearhead economic sector, thereby making an impressive facelift to the whole district.

Amid the prolonged Covid-19 resurgence, the district will focus on promoting all resources as many as possible to promote rapid yet sustainable economic development, enhancing local residents’ living conditions, building civilised urban lifestyle, maintaining political stability, national defence and security and promoting the strength of public solidarity in a bid to make itself more modern, prosperous, beautiful and civilised in the time to come.
