City leaders pay visits to key construction projects after Tet
On Wednesday, February 9, the 9th day of the 1st lunar month of 2022, some of Da Nang’s leaders paid inspection visits to construction sites of some key projects in the city.

Da Nang Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Van Quang, Standing Vice Chairman of the municipal People's Council Le Minh Trung and Vice Chairwoman of the People's Committee Ngo Thi Kim Yen visited and sent Tet wishes to construction workers at the project to relocate the Museum of Da Nang to the current headquarters of the municipal People’s Council at 42 Bach Dang, and the Organ and Stem Cell Transplantation Centre project at the Da Nang General Hospital
Secretary Quang highlighted the great significance of the two projects to the city’s growth, especially in the aspects of culture and healthcare. He, therefore, urged the construction units to make their efforts to ensure the on-schedule progress, and technical requirements and the aesthetics of the projects.
Worked started in July 2021on a project to relocate the Museum of Da Nang to the current headquarters of the municipal People’s Council at 42 Bach Dang with a total investment of nearly VND505 billion. The project has focused on converting housing blocks at 42 and 44 Bach Dang Street, and 31 Tran Phu Street, into areas for displaying artifacts.
Meanwhile, the construction of the Organ and Stem Cell Transplantation Centre officially began in March 2020, and it is expected to be completed in May 2023. The 11-store-plus 2-basement centre will have a total of 404 hospital beds.
In his speech delivered at a ceremony to start the construction work after Tet at the overpass as part of the crucial Western Ring Road No.2 project, the city Part chief Quang remarked that the project was one of Da Nang’s key projects helping improve the connectivity of southeast and western rural regions to the city centre.
He gave specific instructions and requested the project’s management board and contractors to keep project on schedule. He also asked the Hoa Vang District authorities to speed up site clearance work to hand over the site to the construction contractors.

The Western Ring Road No.2 project with a length of 14.3 km passing through Hoa Vang, Lien Chieu and Cam Le districts belongs to a large-scale Da Nang transport infrastructure improvement project,
The project is getting underway from 2020 - 2022 with a total investment capital of over US$ 61.37 million, of which US$ 45 million is loaned by OFID ( the OPEC Fund for International Development), whilst about 16.37 million US$ comes from Viet Nam’s reciprocal capital allocated through the Da Nang budget.
This project consists of 2 components, namely the Western Ring Road No.2 and a road associated with a bridge over the Co Co River.
The project is expected to be completed before June 30, 2022.
During his visit to the Da Nang Rubber JSC (DRC), Secretary Quang acknowledged the company's efforts in production and taking care of workers' lives. Despite facing many pandemic-triggered difficulties, the company still achieved a high increase in revenue compared with the same period last year.
The company generated VND4,700 billion in revenue in 2021, in which export turnover reached US$105 million. In January 2022, the company’s export turnover was US$11 million, up about 23% over the same period last year.

Also on the same day, municipal Party Committee Standing Deputy Secretary cum People's Council Chairman Luong Nguyen Minh Triet, and Standing Vice Chairman of People's Committee Ho Ky Minh attended a ceremony to restart the Software Park No. 2 project at its first stage in Hai Chau District’s Thuan Phuoc Ward at the beginning of the new lunar year.
In his remarks at the event, Deputy Secretary Triet affirmed that the IT industry is the city’s spearhead and breakthrough development direction in the present and future period.
The project is considered one of the city’s key and dynamic works. Once fully completed, it will be a place to attract information technology businesses to invest, conduct research about information technology products and services, and train information technology human resources.

Developed by the Da Nang Management Board of Industrial and Civil Engineering Construction and Investment Projects, the Software Park No. 2 project has a total area of 28,573 square metres, including the 20- storey ICT Office Building, the 8- storey ICT1 Office Building with a total floor area of 26,267 square metres , the 8-storey ICT 2 Building Complex featuring offices and coffee bar, internal roads, areas of land covered with grass and trees, and other utilities with a total floor area of 39,297 square metres.
The ICT1 Office Building is expected to be put into use in August 2022, whilst the construction of the ICT and ICT 2 Buildings are scheduled to be basically completed in March 2022.

Attending the opening ceremony at the beginning of the new lunar year at the construction site of a separate wastewater collection system and sewer lines to transfer rainwater to the Han River from Ho Xuan Huong route with a total investment of VND1,340 billion, Mr Triet urged construction units to make every effort to ensure that the project will be completed in April 2023.

At the construction site of the wastewater pipeline project along a section of September 2 Street between its intersections with Phan Thanh Tai and Thang Long, municipal People’s Committee Chairman Le Trung Chinh underlined the need for the Cam Le District authorities to create favourable conditions for construction units to complete the project, as well as embellish urban landscape along Thang Long Street to match the project.

The construction of a VND168.3 billion sewage collection pipeline project along a section of September 2 Street stretching from its intersections with Phan Thanh Tai and Thang Long routes is expected to be completed and put into use in June 2023.
