Da Nang Cyber Security and High-tech Crime Prevention Division makes its debut

The Cyber Security and High-tech Crime Prevention Division under the Da Nang Police Department made its debut on Tuesday morning.

Municipal People's Committee Chairman Le Trung Chinh attended the inauguration ceremony of the new division and presented congratulation flowers to its staff.

Decisions of the Minister of Public Security and the Director of the Da Nang Police Department on the establishment of the Cyber Security and High-tech Crime Prevention Division and appointment of police officers to new positions at this new division were announced at the ceremony. Colonel Le Cao Tam was appointed to Head of the Division and Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Duc Thanh held the position of Deputy Head of the Division.

In his remarks at the event, Major General Vu Xuan Vien, the Director of the Da Nang Police Department highlighted the need for the Cyber Security and High-tech Crime Prevention force to closely work with relevant units to ensure the security of cyberspace, counter cyber crime and its impact on national interests and specifically the citizen in a bid protect the national security and ensure social order and safety as well as protect the legal rights and interests of organisations and individuals. The heed must be paid to exerting every effort to suppress computer related crimes, Mr Vien emphasized.
