Da Nang launches Lunar New Year 2022 tree planting campaign

The Da Nang Farmers' Association has launched its tree planting campaign called ‘Tree-planting festival: Forever grateful to Uncle Ho’ on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2022 and in response to the national government’s programme of planting one billion green trees in the 2021 - 2025 period.

As planned, a total of 51,070 trees were planted along major streets, along the coast, at cultural houses, and community living quarters.

At the launching ceremony on Friday, the municipal Farmers' Union called on farmers to boost production and business activities, actively apply scientific and technological advances to agricultural production, increase production in the direction of applying high technology, organic and ecological agriculture, strive to increase labour productivity, create green - clean - beautiful landscapes, thus building new rural areas and contributing to the implementation of the ‘Da Nang – Environmentally -friendly City’ project in the 2021 - 2030 period" .

Immediately after the launch, the Association’s members, military soldiers and local dwellers joined the planting of 250 dwarf coconut trees along a beach in Man Thai Ward, Son Tra District.

In a similar vein, on Saturday, the Lien Chieu District People's Committee organized a campaign to plant many trees. Municipal People's Committee Vice Chairman Tran Phuoc Son attended this event which took place at the Centre for Culture, Sports and Community-based Learning in Hoa Hiep Nam Ward, Lien Chieu District.

A total of 55 mango and acacia trees were planted in several locations throughout the district.

The district administration is calling on relevant agencies to raise public awareness of the highly meaningful Tet tree planting campaign and the role and human values of planting trees and afforestation as well. The tree planting drives shall be conducted in a practical, efficient and cost-saving manner,
