Da Nang Military Medical soldiers proud to serve comrades and the people
Thus far, Military medical soldiers under the Da Nang Military Command have had such a tough time in the past two years owing to the complicated COVID-19 pandemic. Military medical officers and soldiers jointing hands with the city's frontline forces in the fight against the pandemic are solid fulcrums to protect the health of officers and soldiers, as well as ensuring the safety of agencies and units.

As soon as Da Nang appeared in the first cases of COVID-19 in early 2020, each agency and armed force unit became a solid bastion striving to prevent the pandemic from spreading into the unit.
At that time, the military medical soldiers were on duty day and night to disinfect the barracks and vehicles entering and leaving the gate every day, prepare hand sanitiser and saltwater for rinsing the mouth, measure the temperature of officers and soldiers as well as distribute face masks.
As shared by Major Le Thi Thanh Hai, a pharmacist from the Military Medical Department, she could not count the number of kilometres of the journey travelled by motorbike to transport Chloramine B to disinfect units. There are days she forgot to eat, to sleep and worked hard around the clock to supply disinfectants, medical tools, gloves, and protective suits to units during the peak resurgence of the pandemic.
Although the risk of poisoning from disinfectants is great, all members of her unit do not mind the difficulties and strive to complete the task with high concentration.
In the same vein, the military medical staff in the assigned quarantine venues under the municipal Military Command had to be away from their families for many months and had to camp in the unit to disinfect the accommodation for citizens, coordinate with local health workers to measure body temperature and monitor citizens' health daily.
Despite a lot of hard work, the military medical staff has always upheld the soldier's consciousness, especially the kindness and devotion of military medical soldiers to striving to overcome all difficulties for the sake of people.
For the past 5 months, although Da Nang has reached a new normal state and practised safe coexistence with the pandemic, our city’s military medical soldiers still have not had a real rest day since they have a new task of directly taking COVID-19 testing samples for officers and soldiers of agencies and units.
Senior Lieutenant Truong Son Tung, an employee of the Military Medical Department, said that they have to organize testing for all officers and soldiers to promptly detect new cases for treatment, isolation to ensure the number of training soldiers who are always ready to fight and perform duty effectively.
Frontline military medical soldiers in the armed forces are always ready to fulfil duties on fighting against the pandemic, sacrifice themselves for the health of their comrades and people as well as follow Uncle Ho's teaching " a good doctor is like an affectionate mother"
According to Lieutenant Colonel Phan Minh Dung, Head of the Military Medical Department, Logistics Department, Da Nang Military, military medical soldiers, always keep in mind that we have to work hard, wholeheartedly overcome all difficulties to serve for the sake of our comrades as well as contribute to the health care of the people. That is the highest goal and also our greatest pride on the Vietnamese Doctors' Day on February 27.
