Ensuring the thoughtful organisation of foreign affairs events in 2022
In his closing speech delivered at a Thursday meeting to review foreign affairs in Da Nang in 2021 and summarise some programmes on strengthening and improving the effectiveness of the Party’s external relations in the new normal, Standing Vice Chairman of the municipal People's Committee Ho Ky Minh acknowledged and highly appreciated the city’s positive results in foreign affairs over the past time.

He highlighted the initiative taken by government departments, agencies and localities in flexibly renewing contents and modes of operation, thereby bringing many positive results in foreign activities in all aspects.
Standing Vice Chairman Minh underlined a must-do to foster foreign relations with partners and localities that have established friendly relations with the city in 2022.
As for economic diplomacy, he stressed the necessity to appeal for more investment inflows into the city’s Hi-Tech Park, look for strategic investors to help the city realise its ambitious target of becoming a financial hub in Central Viet Nam in the coming time, and continue accessing the World Bank’s loans and deploying existing ODA capital effectively.
Mr. Minh remarked Da Nang is striving to become a city of international events, so he requested the municipal Department of Foreign Affairs to make plans for some international events in the city in 2022.
In addition, the municipal Department of Foreign Affairs was asked to give a helping hand to Hoa Vang and Hai Chau districts to effectively implement friendship agreements signed with Korean localities, as well as make some suggestions to the municipal People's Committee about organising training courses on foreign affairs-related knowledge for relevant departments, agencies and branches to contribute to improving the quality and efficiency of foreign affairs activities in the coming time.
In 2021 alone, Da Nang welcomed 48 delegations of international guests to visit and learn about the city’s socio-economic development situation, and investment climate, as well as join in training and cultural exchange activities.
During the year, the city signed cooperation agreements with many localities of South Korea and Japan.
To date, Da Nang has established friendly and cooperative relationships with 45 localities of 20 countries and territories all over the world, with 97 cooperation agreements signed.
