It is high time to build Lien Chieu District into a green, smart, industrial, high-tech, logistics centre in Da Nang with high-quality tourism, education and healthcare services, and especially serving as a driving force for the socio-economic development of the northern part of the city.

The above-mentioned instruction was made by Da Nang Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Van Quang at the Tuesday meeting between the city key leaders and the Lien Chieu administration on the development of Lien Chieu District and the implementation of resolutions of the Party congresses at all levels for the 2020 - 2025 term.

At the event, Secretary Quang suggested that the district do well in personnel planning and make a breakthrough in administrative reform, and build up a digital government in the 2020 - 2025 period.

In terms of land management, Lien Chieu should prioritize the land fund for the construction of resettlement areas, medical, educational and cultural development and the progress of eco-tourism, high technology and clean industries.

As for urban management, especially construction and environmental management, heed should be given to gradually improving high population infrastructure in residential areas and reviewing along-street trees, electricity and lighting systems and residential areas, in a bid to come up with suitable investment solutions.

Delivering his instructions for Lien Chieu, Standing Deputy Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Luong Nguyen Minh Triet underlined a need for the district to give an outstanding urban facelift to the existing Nguyen Tat Thanh coastal route worthy of its development potential and advantages.

Also, site clearance in service for the building of the extended North West Axis 1- one of the key projects leveraging the development of the entire district must boosted as soon as possible.

Others tasks included the construction of worker housing projects in industrial zones, and the development of kindergartens exclusively for workers’ children.

Meanwhile, municipal People's Committee Chairman Le Trung Chinh proposed that Lien Chieu review the use of vacant land for community-targeted facilities and earmark sites for educational, medical cultural projects.

In addition, it is necessary to actively coordinate with neighbouring localities such as Phu Loc District of Thua Thien -Hue Province and Hoa Vang District in the management and protection of forests and mineral resources, and the avoidance of illegal mining activities.

More efforts should be taken to boost site clearance, with a focus on removing difficulties facing investors as well as to persuading and mobilising the displaced  households to hand over the site to the development of projects.
