It saw the participation of representatives from Embassies and Consulates General of a number of European countries, plus leaders of trade associations and foreign enterprises, and experts and researchers in the field of smart cities.
In her remarks at the event, Chairwoman Nga undertook that the development of smart cities in the digital era was a matter of great concern to the country’s Party and State.
She underlined the importance of the seminar in deploying Politburo’s Resolution No. 06-NQ/TW regarding the planning, construction, management and sustainable development of urban areas in Viet Nam to 2030 with a vision to 2045.
The seminar focused on introducing a number of remarkable achievements in building and managing smart cities that have been gained by Western and Northern European countries so that Da Nang could learn from that experience and apply it in accordance with reality, added Mrs.Nga.
Chairwoman Nga emphasised that Da Nang has a great advantage of its improved and synchronous infrastructure, whilst its management level met the conditions for building a smart city. At the same time, the local government and people are also determined to build Da Nang into a smarter city.
The seminar featured a plenary session and two thematic sessions. During the plenary session, the event’s organisers provided attendees with an overview of Viet Nam’s smart city development policy, and Da Nang’s policies to promote the building of a smarter city.
In his closing speech at the event, Standing Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh highly appreciated the honest, insightful and open sharing and suggestions of the speakers for the city.
He noted that the city leaders would recognize, absorb and assign relevant agencies to actively research models and solutions shared at the event during its smart city progress.
Mr. Minh also asked for support from embassies of Western and Nordic countries to act as a bridge to appeal for more corporations, businesses and investors from their countries to seek investment opportunities in Da Nang, and Viet Nam as a whole, as well as expand consumption markets for Vietnamese digital technology solutions.
