City leaders give gifts to social policy families in Quang Nam Province

A group of Da Nang leaders, led by municipal Party Committee Deputy Secretary cum People’s Council Chairman Luong Nguyen Minh Triet, on Friday morning, visited and presented gifts to some social policy families in Quang Nam Province in the build up to the 75th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs' Day (July 27, 1947 - 2022).

Deputy Secretary Triet informed that, over recent years, Da Nang has always sent delegations to visit martyrs’ cemeteries and support the construction of gratitude houses for social policy families in Quang Nam Province in a bid to express the city’s gratitude to families with meritorious services to the revolution and join efforts with the provincial authorities to care for revolutionary contributors.

Under the bilateral association and coordination programme with Quang Nam Province, since 2016, Da Nang has provided financial support, worth VND10 billion each year, for the province to embellish martyrs’ memorial works in the locality.

On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs' Day, Da Nang donated 75 gratitude houses, totalling VND4.5 billion, for social policy families in Quang Nam Province.

Deputy Secretary Triet said that the gifts aimed to share some hardships in life with social policy families in Quang Nam province.

On behalf of the Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Fatherland Front Committee of Da Nang, he expressed his deep gratitude to wounded soldiers, heroic Vietnamese mothers, relatives of martyrs, and social policy families in Quang Nam Province.

On behalf of the leaders of Quang Nam Province, provincial Party Committee Deputy Secretary Le Van Dung thanked the Da Nang leaders for their special care for local social policy families, noting that this was a very precious sentiment that his province always remembered.

Also on the same day, the delegation of Da Nang laid wreaths and offered incense at the Martyrs’ Cemetery, and the Heroic Vietnamese Mother Monument, in Quang Nam Province.

After that, the delegation visited and presented a ‘Charity house’ to heroic Vietnamese mother Ho Thi Ngo, 99, residing in Tam Thang Commune, Tam Ky City, Quang Nam Province.

On the occasion, the Da Nang delegation visited the Care Center for Revolution Contributors in the province.

During his visit to the centre, Deputy Secretary Luong Nguyen Minh Triet expressed his gratitude to those who gave great services in the national revolution, including many wounded and sick soldiers who had joined the Quang Nam - Da Nang battlefields.

The centre is caring for 55 people with meritorious services and martyrs' relatives.
