Da Nang leaders offer incense to commemorate heroic martyrs at Truong Son and Road 9 National Martyrs' Cemeteries
A group of Da Nang’s leaders, led by municipal Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Van Quang, on Friday, laid wreaths and offered incense in tribute to heroic martyrs at the Truong Son and Road 9 National Martyrs’ Cemeteries in Quang Tri Province in the build up to the 75th anniversary of the War Invalids and Martyrs' Day (July 27).

The participants observed a minute’s silence to pay their respects to late President Ho Chi Minh, heroic Vietnamese mothers, and heroic martyrs who laid down their lives for the nation’s re-unification.
In front of the hallowed memorial to the heroic martyrs, Da Nang leaders vowed that the Party, government and people of Da Nang will continue to uphold their consensus and solidarity, and do their utmost to make Da Nang even more civilised and prosperous in a bid to enable all people to prosper and flourish in life and health in the years ahead.
The Truong Son National Martyrs’ Cemetery is the resting place for more than 10,200 martyrs nationwide who died on the legendary Truong Son trail during the anti-US resistance war. 41 of them were from Da Nang and Quang Nam Province.
Meanwhile, the Road 9 National Martyrs’ Cemetery is the resting place for more than 10,800 martyrs across the country who heroically sacrificed themselves for the cause of national independence and reunification.
Also on the same day, the delegation offered incense to commemorate heroic at the Quang Tri Ancient Citadel. They observed a minute’s silence to pay their respects to fallen soldiers who laid down their lives in the fierce battle to protect the Quang Tri Ancient Citadel during 81 days and nights in 1972 (from June 28 - September 16, 1972).
