In the build-up to the 75th anniversary of Invalids and Martyrs' Day (July 27), Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Publicity and Education Nguyen Trong Nghia, on Friday, laid a wreath and offered incense in tribute to heroic Vietnamese mothers and martyrs at the martyrs’ cemetery located in Dien Ban Town, Quang Nam Province.

He was accompanied by Da Nang Party Committee Deputy Secretary cum municipal People's Council Chairman Luong Nguyen Minh Triet.

In a solemn and emotional atmosphere, leaders of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Publicity and Education, along with the city leaders, observed a minute’s silence to pay their respects to late President Ho Chi Minh, heroic Vietnamese mothers and heroic martyrs who laid down their lives for the nation’s re-unification.

Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Publicity and Education Nguyen Trong Nghia, along with municipal Party Committee Deputy Secretary Luong Nguyen Minh Triet offered incense at the graves of heroic Vietnamese mothers and martyrs, and at the memorial house of heroic martyr Nguyen Van Troi.

It is known that during the patriotic war, nearly 19,000 outstanding residents of Dien Ban Town sacrificed their lives for national independence, and nearly 5,600 martyrs were gathered at the martyrs' cemetery in the town.

Also on the same day, Head Nghia and Deputy Secretary Triet visited 78-year-old journalist Ho Duy Le residing on Y Lan Nguyen Phi Street in Da Nang who is former Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Quang Nam - Da Nang Newspaper, former Editor-in-Chief of the Quang Nam Newspaper, and former Chairman of the Quang Nam Province Literature and Arts Association.

Head Nghia wished journalist Ho Duy Le good health, hoping him to continue to have excellent literary works to contribute to the literature of Quang Nam-Da Nang, and the country as a whole, and nurture a source of literary passion for the young generation.

When visiting 88-year-old musician Thanh Anh, residing on Nguyen Tri Phuong Street, Da Nang, Head Nguyen Trong Nghia sent his regards and best wishes for the musician and his family.

Mr.Nghia hoped the musician continue to have new and good compositions about the country and people of Viet Nam, and those of Central Viet Nam, thereby making lively contributions to the Vietnamese music scene.

During the visits, Head Nguyen Trong Nghia presented journalist Ho Duy Le and musician Thanh Anh a book titled ‘Some theoretical and practical issues on socialism and the path towards socialism in Viet Nam’ written by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.
