According to Secretary Nguyen Van Quang, nearly 6,000 older people are holding key positions in Party organisations, authorities at local level, and grassroots organizations across residential areas, villages, and residential groups around the city, proving that local seniors play an important role in Party building and promoting the development of the city, especially creating momentum for grassroots movements to operate effectively.

Mr Quang asked for help from VAE to soon propose a unified model in the elderly associations at all levels thoughout the country to the national government in order to uphold the role of older people in promoting socio-economic development in their localities, as well as offer mechanisms and policies to provide the best care for such people.
