Over VND3.2 billion goes to support disabled people and orphans
More than VND3.2 billion has been raised by generous philanthropists for orphans, people with disabilities and underprivileged people across Da Nang at the recent 9th ‘Pink Hearts’ programme hosted by the municipal Association for Supporting People with Disabilities and Orphans.
In his remarks at the programme, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Long, Chairman of the municipal Association for Sponsoring People with Disabilities and Orphans, said that the annual programme aimed to honour generous donors as well as to raise money from the community for the charitable purposes in the city.
Over the past decade, 100% of people with disabilities and orphans citywide have been well cared for at the Association’s facilities. In addition, nearly 5,000 turns of unfortunate people have been cared for, and given free medical checkups and medicine and means of livelihood.
Since 2020, the Association has raised more than VND 8.6 billion from organisations, individuals and benefactors at both home and abroad.
Within the framework of the programme, the organisers have awarded the ‘Golden Heart’ boards to outstanding organisations and individuals in recognition of their active involvement in accompanying the association in sponsoring people with disabilities and orphans in recent years.
