Viet Nam Women's Union organises many programmes in Da Nang
The Viet Nam Women's Union (WU) is working with its chapters in localities in Central Viet Nam and Central Highlands from September 21 - 23.
Specifically, a meeting was held on Wednesday morning to review the implementation of a cooperation programme on empowering Vietnamese women with the Nestlé Vietnam Co., Ltd over the past 2 years.
During the meeting, the participants shared experience in implementing the programme and discussed solutions to solve shortcomings and difficulties.
After 2 years of implementing the joint programme, 1.2 million families accessed to nutrition knowledge, and 3,000 members maintained the ‘Safety - Health – Convenience’ stalls. Also, a total of VND1 billion went to support disadvantaged women and children, and poor social policy families.
In addition, the WU gave cash and in-kind donations, totaling more than VND7.3 billion, to 23 provinces/cities in the regions, as well as supported the ‘Godmother’ program with a total value of VND1 billion.
In the afternoon of the same day, the WU held a thematic seminar to seek solutions to ehance the education and support for parents to care for and protect children.
During the seminar, the WUs at all levels shared a number of activities and results of supporting parents to care for and protect children during the 2017-2021 period. Also, a handful of solutions to improve the efficiency of supporting parents to care for and protect children for the 2022-2027 period were discussed.
On September 22 and 23, the Viet Nam Women's Union coordinated with the Agro-Forestry-Fisheries Quality Management Department to organise a training course to implement a coordinated programme on food safety.
