Da Nang, Daegu City foster cooperative ties
Da Nang People's Council Chairman Luong Nguyen Minh Triet on Monday hosted a reception for his South Korean counterpart Lee Mankyu who led a group of leaders from Daegu Municipal Council.

Chairman of the City People's Council Luong Nguyen Minh Triet expressed his pleasure to welcome leaders from the Daegu Municipal Council. He also expressed his delight at fruitful results from the bilateral cooperation programmes with Daegu City in such aspects as economy, culture, education. education, healthcare and diplomacy.
Mr Triet highlighted the significance of effective gains from bilteral cooperation between Da Nang and Daegu in deepening bilateral ties for mutual interests. 2022 marks the 30th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between Viet Nam and South Korea (December 22). Furthermore, 2023 will mark the 20th Anniversary of the Establishment of Cooperative Ties between Da Nang and Daegu City.
As of January 2022, South Korea had been the fifth-largest source of foreign direct investment (FDI) in Da Nang with 235 projects totalling more than US$378 million.
Tourism is the most fast-growing field of the two cities' cooperative relations as 50% of international visitor arrivals in Da Nang are from South Korea.
Chairman Triet hoped that friendly and cooperative relations between the two cities would be deepened in a stronger and more effective manner.

In reply, Mr Lee Mankyu thanked Da Nang leaders for their warm welcome and stated that he was very impressed with rapid development of Da Nang over recent years. He also applauded the fruitful outcomes of the two cities have gained in bilateral cooperation for mutual benefit.
Mr. Lee Mankyu said that he would encourage more Daegu businesses to seek investment opportunities in Da Nang. He believed that bilateral relations between Da Nang and Daegu City would keep growing and become stronger. In addition, he hoped that the two cities would further expand cooperation in areas where they have strengths, especially tourism, education, and healthcare.
Previously, Dageu City’s guests had a working session with the Da Nang Department of Transport to learn about the city's traffic policies and its proposed projects to attract investment in urban rail development.
