Da Nang, Wakayama intensify cooperation in all spheres
During his reception for Mr. Shimo Hiroshi, Deputy Governor of Wakayama Province, Japan, Da Nang People's Committee Chairman Le Trung Chinh informed that by 2022, Da Nang has controlled COVID-19 and restored economic development activities.
The city has been named among the group of Viet Nam’s leading provinces and cities in the Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI), the Information Technology Application Readiness Index, and the Public Administration Reform Index, he said proudly.
Over the past time, the city has focused on developing tourism associated with resort real estate, aiming to build an international-scale event centre.
All resources have been concentrated to develop a knowledge economy with the spearhead of high-tech industry associated with creative urban construction, and build a high-quality service centre associated with spearheads of seaports and airports associated with logistics services and a regional international financial centre.
Da Nang has officially set up friendship relations with four Japanese localities, namely Kawasaki, Yokohama, Sakai and Kisarazu. Currently, Da Nang is now home to 215 Japanese enterprises, representative offices, and projects with a total investment capital of US$900 million. Japan ranked first in terms of investment capital among 40 countries and territories investing into Da Nang.
Chairman Chinh affirmed that the city always creates all favourable conditions for businesses from Wakayama Province, to learn about the city’s investment climate and seek investment opportunities in all spheres, especially in tourism, food processing, hi-tech agriculture, human resource training, culture, and education.
For his part, Mr. Shinmo Hiroshi expressed his delight at visiting and working in Da Nang for the first time and impressed with the city's rapid growth.
The Japanese guest said that Wakayama's businesses are very interested in investing into Viet Nam, including Da Nang. Therefore, he hoped that the bilateral cooperation with Da Nang will be lifted to a new height in the coming time.
