Cash gifts given to people in difficult circumstances in Da Nang

The Viet Nam Red Cross Society on Tuesday worked with the Party Organisation of the Da Nang Government Department and Agency Block to give cash gifts to people in difficult circumstances in 11 communes of Hoa Vang District.

Co- organized by The Viet Nam Red Cross Society and the Party Organisation of the Da Nang Government Department and Agency Block, humanitarian program offers cash gifts to 142 poor people in 11 communes of Hoa Vang District.

The total value of cash gifts were more than VND 277 million which were raised from members of 77 Party member committees.  The activity aimed to celebrate the 76th anniversary of the founding of the Viet Nam Red Cross Society.(November 23) and respond to the national campaign ‘Each organisation, each individual attaches to a humanitarian address’ in line with the direction from the Da Nang Party Committee to promote the implementation of charitable activities to support those in need.

On the same day, representatives of the two above-mentioned organisations visited 5 families of older adults and people with disabilities to offer cash gifts valued at VND 1.8 million – VND 4 million each.

Launched by the Viet Nam Red Cross Society in 2008, the campaign 'Each organisation, each individual attaches to a humanitarian address' is a material contribution to the poor and disadvantaged people across the country in order to ensure that every vulnerable and poor person nationwide could receive support.

In Da Nang, the campaign has received active response and participation of the local community.
