City leaders extend Tet greetings to ethic minority residents

Deputy Secretary of the Da Nang Party Committee cum Chairman of the municipal People's Council Luong Nguyen Minh Triet, together with other city leaders, on Monday visited and extended Tet wishes to the Co Tu people New Year in Ta Lang and Gian Bi villages in Hoa Bac Commune, Hoa Phu Commune’s Phu Tuc village, and Chinese-Vietnamese families in Trung Nghia village, Hoa Ninh Commune, Hoa Vang District on the occasion of the traditional Vietnamese Lunar New Year (Tet) 2023.

Deputy Secretary Triet, on behalf of the city's leaders, wished the Co Tu ethnic minority people a happy and warm Tet. He hoped them to exert greater efforts to join hands with the local authorities to continue building a rich and beautiful homeland.

He, in particular, underlined a must-do for the commune-level authorities to pay more attention to implementing education and health care services for people, guiding people on relevant legal procedures to develop community-based tourism activities in a sustainable way. In addition, focus should be on creating jobs, in tandem with creating favourable conditions for people to develop their livelihoods and improve their lives as well.

During her visit to Trung Nghia village where the Vietnamese people of Chinese origin live, Vice Chairwoman of the municipal People's Committee Ngo Thi Kim Yen wishes everyone a peaceful, jubilant and happy Tet. She gave them words of great encouragement on promoting community solidarity, enhancing their income  and actively participating in building new-style countryside areas in the village.

During the pre-Tet visits, the city leaders presented 426 gifts worth VND 1.2 million each to the Co Tu and Chinese-Vietnamese inhabitants.
