City leaders pay Tet rounds, extend best wishes to on-duty agencies

On the eve of the Lunar New Year 2023, on Saturday afternoon, Da Nang People's Committee Chairman Le Trung Chinh paid Tet visits to the doctors and nurses of the Da Nang General Hospital on emergency duty and the 911 police force in charge of maintaining security and a team on duty to set off fireworks on New Year's Eve 2023.

At the Da Nang General Hospital, doctor Le Duc Nhan, its Director, said that the hospital currently has 800 patients being treated as inpatients, most of whom are seriously-ill. The hospital have fully prepared human resources and medical equipment, medicines, and medical staff working around the clock. In particular, the hospital's red alarm system is on standby continuously, ready for handling any emergency situations.

Chairman Chinh encouraged the hospital’s doctors and nurses to do their best to take care of patients' health, especially during Tet.

While visiting the army force on duty to set off fireworks on New Year's Eve on Nguyen Van Troi Pedestrian Bridge, Chairman Chinh said, “People are looking forward to seeing fireworks on New Year's Eve, so the team has to ensure safety before, during and after the fireworks displays”.

It is known that 1,700 high-altitude firecrackers were fired on New Year's Eve at the firing point on Nguyen Van Troi Bridge. In addition, there were continuous patrol teams, including a special task force to handle illegal unmanned aerial vehicles.

Giving encouragement gifts to the 911 police forces under the Da Nang Police Department, the municipal government’s chief highly appreciated and praised the unit for ensuring local security across the city on occasion of Tet.

At the same time, he noted that security and order problems and complicated incidents could still occur in the city, so it is recommended that the units be absolutely proactive in all situations by strengthening patrols, preventing fire and explosion and traffic accidents, thereby significantly contributing to the city to joyfully and safely welcome Tet.

On behalf of the city's leaders, Chairman Chinh wished all officers and soldiers of the related units to enjoy the happy Tet atmosphere and hoped that they would successfully complete their assigned tasks to ensure a safe and happy Tet for locals and visitors arriving in the city on this special occasion.

In a similar vein, on Saturday evening, Da Nang People's Council Vice Chairman Tran Phuoc Son paid New Year's Eve rounds to the armed forces units based in the city.

In addition, visiting the Da Nang International Airport, Vice Chairman Son emphasised that, after 2 years of interruption by COVID-19, Da Nang tourism has recovered and developed strongly. This encouraging signal was partly attributed to an important contribution made by the the Airport’s operators in reopening air services.

He hoped that this unit’s staff will fulfill their assigned task of better serving the travel of locals and tourists on occasion of Tet.

Da Nang People's Committee Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh extended Tet wishes to the  Da Nang Power Company Limited and those who are in charge of setting off fireworks at the Hoa Vang District Administrative Centre.

Likewise, earlier, on Saturday afternoon, Da Nang People's Committee Vice Chairwoman Ngo Thi Kim Yen and the leaders of related departments and agencies paid joint Tet rounds and extended Tet wishes to some units.

Visiting the Da Nang Radio and Television Station (Da Nang TV), Vice Chairwoman Yen highly appreciated the station's initiative in carrying out publicity tasks, especially Tet programmes. She wished that the agency’s staff would continue to follow the city’s publicity orientation, deploy a variety of topics, comprehensively reflect the fields of life such as socio-economic affairs, spiritual life of the city, contributing to creating a joyful atmosphere at Tet.

Visiting officials and employees on duty at the International Health Quarantine Area under the Da Nang Centre of Disease Control (Da Nang CDC), Vice Chairwoman Yen hailed this unit for handling a growing number of international visitors to the city on the occasion of Tet.

At the same time, the healthcare sector is absolutely not subjective and negligent, and they shall proactively monitor infectious diseases, strengthen supervision at border gates and airport service areas.

During her visit to the Da Nang Emergency Centre, Vice Chairwoman Yen acknowledged and praised the sense of responsibility and great contributions made by healthcare workers, Da Nang Emergency Centre in particular, in taking care of people's health over the years, especially during the COVID-19 time with their silent yet strong dedication to work.

On the occasion of the Lunar New Year, Vice Chairwoman Yen wished the Centre’s staff a new year full of good health and peace and to continue with their great efforts to overcome difficulties and always act as the leading force in the healthcare work and a reliable fulcrum of the people. In particular, the Centre’s staff were encouraged to be ready to make every effort to promptly respond to any emergency incidents on the first days of the Tet break.
