Da Nang always welcomes partners, businesses, investors

Speaking at a recent meeting with foreign ex-pats who now live in Da Nang on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2023, municipal People's Committee Chairman Le Trung Chinh emphasised that Da Nang will continue to improve the investment environment, strengthen international cooperation and welcome as many foreign partners, businesses and investors to the city as possible.

Chairman Chinh, on behalf of the city leaders, extended good wishes to foreigners living and working in Da Nang. He added that 2022 was the pivotal year to implement the 13th National Party Congress' Resolution and the 5-year socio-economic development plan and the year of safe opening and economic recovery after COVID-19 as well.

After 2 years of being affected by the COVID-19 outbreaks, the city’s socio-economic situation has prospered in many fields. Some industries recovered quickly and had a breakthrough increase, making a positive contribution to the overall growth of the year.

Also last year, external activities and international cooperation were promoted effectively. The city welcomed more than 153 international delegations, an increase of 108 higher than that recorded in the same period in 2021.

Last year also witnesses the successful working trips by the city leaders to many countries for cooperation promotion and investment attraction.

Up to now, the city has established friendly cooperative relationships with a total of 47 provinces and cities in 22 countries around the world.

The city leaders always highly appreciate contributions made by those who are working at diplomatic missions and foreign businesses now operating in Da Nang, international agencies, foreign non-governmental organisations and foreigners living and working in the city.

Da Nang has identified the theme for 2023 as ‘The year focuses on unleashing resources, attracting investment, maintaining economic growth and ensuring social welfare’.

For that purpose, the city will attach importance to developing an open external and favourable investment environment and welcoming partners, businesses and investors to invest and do long-term and successful business in this central Vietnamese hub.

The city leaders are committed to maintaining political stability, social security and stabilising long-term policies towards sustainable development.

Chairman Chinh hopes that the expatriate community living and working in the city will continue to accompany the municipal government and local residens in the construction of Da Nang as a rich, beautiful, peaceful, civilised and modern city.

On behalf of foreign consulates in the city, Lao Consul General in Da Nang Souphanh Hadaoheuang thanked the city leaders for creating many favourable conditions for foreigners to work, study and work here.

He also believed that, under the correct leadership of the municipal Party Committee, the local government will gain many new achievements, contributing to the successful implementation of the 13th National Party Congress' Resolution for the goal of democracy, justice and civilisation.

On this occasion, certificates of merit from Da Nang People’s Committee Chairman were awarded to 4 groups and 19 individuals in recognition for their positive contributions in strengthening international cooperation and friendship, humanitarian aid and socio-economic development in the city in 2022.
