The Da Nang Fatherland Front Committee on Tuesday afternoon organized its program entitled "Spring of Love –Year of the Cat Lunar New Year" to give Tet gifts to poor and disadvantaged households plus those affected by natural disasters and the COVID-19 pandemic.

In his remarks at the event, Mr Duong Dinh Lieu, the Vice Chairman of the Da Nang Fatherland Front Committee said that in response to the country’s campaign to join hands to support the poor in efforts to ensure ‘No one will be left behind’, the "Spring of Love –Year of the Cat Lunar New Year" program aims to support the poor and disadvantaged people in the city to have a warm and joyful spring with the sharing and care of the whole society.

Under the program, nearly 16,000 Tet gifts totaling more than VND 8.1 billion were given to poor households, near-poor households, “newly escaped from poverty” households, along with those affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Each gift is considered as a practical support from the Da Nang Fatherland Front Committee to help these families overcome their difficulties in life to have a warm and happy Tet.

Also at the event, the "Golden Heart" Award was presented to organisations and businesses in recognition of their great contributions to the "Spring of Love –Year of the Cat Lunar New Year" program and the municipal Fund for the Poor.
