Chinese navy training ship arrives in Da Nang

Da Nang People's Committee Vice Chairwoman Ngo Thi Kim Yen, on Tuesday morning, warmly received a group of visitors from Chinese navy training ship Qi Jiguang which is paying a courtesy visit to the central coastal city from May 23 - 25.

Vice Chairwoman Yen said that the visit made by the Chinese ship aimed to affirm the bilateral cooperation and friendship with Da Nang, and Viet Nam as a whole.

During her reception for the Chinese delegation, Mrs. Yen informed a number of cooperation, investment and tourism activities between Da Nang and Chinese localities, all contributing to promoting the friendly and cooperative relationship between China and Da Nang, and China and Viet Nam as a whole.

For his part, Major General Su Yinsheng, Political Commissar at the Dalian Naval Academy, an education institute under the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Navy, thanked the city leader for her warm welcome.

He affirmed that the visit made by the training ship helped consolidate and beef up the friendship between Viet Nam and China in general and the relationship between their naval forces in particular.

In the morning of the same day, Chinese navy training ship Qi Jiguang docked at the Tien Sa Port, marking the beginning of an official visit to Da Nang from May 23 - 25. This visit is as part of the Viet Nam - China’s bilateral cooperation framework.

Aboard the vessel are 476 officers, sailors, and students from the Dalian Naval Academy. The delegation is headed by Major General Su Yinsheng, Political Commissar at the academy.

After an official welcome ceremony on May 23 at the Tien Sa Port, the Chinese delegates are scheduled to pay a courtesy call to the Da Nang authorities, engage in exchange activities with the Viet Nam People's Navy Region 3 Command and the Military Region 5 High Command; and take a city tour.
