City leaders congratulate Catholic followers on 60th birthday of Da Nang Diocese
On Tuesday, a group of Da Nang’s leaders, led by municipal Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Van Quang, visited and congratulated the Diocese of Da Nang on the occasion of its 60th birthday (1963-2023).

On behalf of the city leaders, Secretary Quang wished Bishop of the Da Nang Diocese Dang Duc Ngan and Catholic followers citywide good health and happiness.
He congratulated the Diocese of Da Nang on its remarkable achievements over 60 years of construction and development, affirming its position in the Catholic Church of Viet Nam.
He also praised Catholic followers in particular, and religious people in general, for their active involvement in promoting the city’s socio-economic development during that period.
The city Party chief Quang expressed his belief that under the guidance of Bishop Dang Duc Ngan, Catholic dignitaries and followers will express consensus, thereby contributing to building Da Nang into a livable, peaceful and happy city in the coming time.
In reply, Bishop Dang Duc Ngan expressed his joy at the special care made by the city leaders.
He affirmed that he and Catholic dignitaries and followers will continue upholding the motto of “living the gospel, serving the Christ, and serving the Fatherland and the people” so as to greatly contribute to the city’s development and construction progress.
