In his report at the meeting, municipal People’s Committee Chairman Le Trung Chinh informed about the city’s socio-economic development achievements in 2022 and early 2023.
Besides the achieved results, the city's economy tended to slow down. The city saw a decline in the number of newly-established and resumed enterprises over the same period. Notably, local enterprises faced many difficulties in production activities, especially exporters, so the industry and construction sector has not grown as expected. The total investment capital of the whole society decreased over the same period, especially in the area with foreign investment.
Therefore, the city leader took the opportunity to make some proposals to the national government to help the city well implement its economic development tasks in the coming time.
Specifically, the city asked the Ministry of Planning and Investment to soon issue a project on building Da Nang into an international financial centre; the Ministry of Science and Technology to guide the implementation of projects related to Da Nang Hi-Tech Park; the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Planning and Investment to soon issue a project on establishing a non-tariff zone in Da Nang; and the Ministry of Science and Technology to soon set up the National Support Centre for Innovative Start-ups in Da Nang.
Besides, the city suggested the national government review and supplement Decree No. 144/2016/ND-CP dated November 1, 2016 of the Government stipulating a number of specific mechanisms on investment, finance, budget and management decentralisation for Da Nang.
Da Nang asked for consideration from the Ministry of Transport to develop transport infrastructure at railway station and Da Nang International Airport.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development was urged to take into account the city's proposal to review and define the boundaries of 3 types of forests for 3 projects in Son Tra Peninsula, the Lang Van tourist and urban complex, and area of natural forest in the Ba Na Hills Resort & Residences project.
