Da Nang always pays special attention to developing cooperative relations with the south central provinces of Laos.

Municipal People’s Committee Chairman Le Trung Chinh made the statement on Monday when meeting with Mr. Khamphanh Phommathath, Secretary of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Central Committee cum Chairman of the Inspection Committee of the Party Central Committee.

Chairman Chinh informed that Da Nang has been implementing many cooperation programmes and projects with the five south central provinces of Laos. The focus is on building and upgrading schools, public works and Vietnamese language teaching centres; granting scholarships to Lao students studying in Da Nang; sending teachers to Vietnamese language centres; and receiving government officials to practice and learn from experience in the city.

For his part, Mr. Khamphanh Phommathath thanked the city leader for his warm welcome.

He expressed his impression on Da Nang’s rapid growth over recent years, especially in the field of trade, services and tourism. He said that Da Nang and the south central provinces of Laos boasted great potential for cooperation and investment.

At the same time, the Lao guest expressed his belief that the two sides will continue to achieve more successes in the cooperation fields in the coming time.
