Da Nang boosts multifaceted cooperation with the UK

During her reception on Friday for UK Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City Emily Hamblin, Da Nang People’s Committee Vice Chairwoman Ngo Thi Kim Yen expressed her wish to boost cooperation with British businesses in such spheres as finance, health, education, and digital transformation.

She took the opportunity to thank the UK government for facilitating a group of Da Nang’s officials during their business trip to European countries, including the UK.

The host asked for support from Consul General Emily Hamblin to connect capable investors and businesses to cooperate, invest and do business in Da Nang in areas of the UK’s strengths, such as e-health system, telemedicine, education, digital transformation, and especially in the formation of an international financial centre in the city.

In reply, Consul General Emily Hamblin expressed her delight at the fruitful cooperation results between Da Nang and UK partners over the past time. She congratulated the recent successful business trip of the city’s senior leaders to Birmingham city and Aston University.

The Bristish diplomat remarked that 2023 marked the 50th founding anniversary of the Viet Nam - the UK diplomatic relations. This was a memorable milestone in the relationship between the two countries, and a foundation for the two sides to work together towards the future.

On this occasion, the Consulate General of the UK in Ho Chi Minh City plans to organise a number of cultural exchange activities in Da Nang, aiming to further tighten the relationship between the two sides, she added.
