VND 107 million donated to poor students and those with excellent academic performance

Representatives of units and organizations based in Da Nang on Thursday donated over VND 107 million to poor students and those with excellent academic performance in Hoa Vang District. The intention was to respond to Viet Nam’s 2023 National Humanitarian Month lasting from May 1-31.

Accordingly, the Hoa Vang District Chapter of the Da Nang Fatherland Front Committee worked with the Linh Ung Pagoda to give 331 cash gifts totaling over VND 107 million to poor studious students and those with excellent academic performance from 17 schools at all levels. Included were preschools, primary, junior and senior high schools in the communes of Hoa Ninh, Hoa Son, Hoa Lien, Hoa Bac, Hoa Phuoc, and Hoa Phong.

In addition, 20 students from poor families and ethnic minority students from Pham Phu Thu Senior High School based in Hoa Son Commune received cash gifts valued at VND 500,000 each. Furthermore, students from disadvantaged families and those with excellent academic performance got cash gifts worth VND 300,000 each.

The theme of this year’s humanitarian month is "From the heart of each of us - Working together to build a compassionate community" with the purpose of arousing love from individuals across the country, calling for their active involvement in charitable and humanitarian activities, as well their willingness to help disadvantaged people, and perform acts of kindness in order to contributing to building a united and compassionate community.
