Da Nang, Jeju sign MoU on tourism, investment, trade, agriculture - fishery cooperation

On Friday, representatives from Da Nang and the Jeju Special Self-Governing Province inked a Memorandum of Understanding on establishing cooperative relations in the fields of tourism, investment and trade, and agriculture and fisheries.

During his meeting with Governor of the Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Oh Young Hun, municipal People’s Committee Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh informed his guest about the city’s socio-economic development situation and its priority aspects which are appealing for investment such as tourism services, information technology and high-tech industry.

At the same time, he highly appreciated the comprehensive strategic partnership between Viet Nam and South Korea in recent years. He remarked Da Nang has set up friendly cooperative relations with three localities of South Korea, namely Changwon, Daegu and Hwaseong, and they together have effectively implemented many cooperation programmes in various fields.

Mr. Minh hoped that, in the coming time, the two sides will have a close connection and develop cooperation in the fields of tourism and high-tech industry.

Responding to the respectful reception of the Da Nang leader, Governor Oh Young Hun highly lauded the potential and strengths of the central coastal city, and introduced some outstanding features of Jeju Province.

Mr. Oh Young Hun expressed his desire that the direct flights between Jeju and Da Nang will soon be opened in the near future in a bid to promote the bilateral cooperation in tourism, and such new industries as energy and aerospace.

The South Korean visitor believed that the signing ceremony was a good start for the two localities, wishing that their bilateral relationship will achieve successful results and great achievements in the years ahead.
