Training on modern communication skills and external information

A workshop opened in Da Nang on Wednesday to equip spokespersons and officials in charge of foreign information service of provinces and centrally-run cities nationwide with modern communication and foreign information dissemination skills.

This is first time that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has worked with the US Embassy in Viet Nam to organise a communication skills training course, which is a practical and meaningful activity held by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the U.S.- Viet Nam Comprehensive Partnership (2013-2023).

The three-day event aims to help the localities’ officials in charge of foreign information dissemination improve their capacity,

Addressing the opening of the three-day event, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang assessed that the bilateral relationship of the two countries in recent years has made positive developments and hopes that the relationship will be increasingly consolidated for the benefit of the people of the two countries, hereby contributing to ensuring peace, stability, prosperity and development of the region as well as the whole world.

The training course is guided by the U.S and Vietnamese lecturers with the following contents: sharing experiences in speaking, discussing ways to solve challenges, and organising communication campaigns and plans for external activities, experience in reforming forms in external information work.

US Ambassador to Viet Nam Marc Knapper affirmed that the workshop will help intensify relations between the two countries in multiple aspects, especially trade which has surged from zero to USD 139 billion at present.

Apart from equipping participants with necessary skills, it also looks to enhance the connectivity among the forces responsible for foreign information dissemination nationwide, as well as between them and the US Embassy so as to help reinforce mutual understanding and cooperation.
