City leader visits Consulate General of Japan on 50th anniversary of Viet Nam-Japan diplomatic ties

On Thursday, a group of Da Nang’s officials, led by municipal People’s Committee Vice Chairman Tran Chi Cuong, visited and congratulated officials and staff of the Consulate General of Japan in the city on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the Viet Nam - Japan diplomatic ties (September 21).

During the visit, Vice Chairman Cuong expressed his joy about the friendly relationship between the two countries, affirming that Da Nang, and Viet Nam as a whole, always preserve and continuously cultivate the relationship between the two countries.

He also highly appreciated Japanese Consul General in Da Nang Yakabe Yoshinori for his great efforts in creating favourable conditions for Da Nang to cooperate effectively with Japanese businesses and localities over the past time.

Mr. Cuong hoped that, in the coming time, the Japanese diplomat would continue to call on more Japanese investors and businesses to invest in his city, as well as take part in cultural exchange between Da Nang and Japanese localities. This will contribute to deepening the friendly relationship between Viet Nam and Japan in general, and between Da Nang and Japanese localities in particular.

On behalf of staff of the Consulate General of Japan in Da Nang, Consul General Yakabe Yoshinori thanked the city leaders for their visit on the special occasion.

He noted, Da Nang has organised many events and activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the Viet Nam-Japan diplomatic ties, especially the Viet Nam - Japan Festival - one of the largest and most extensive events in recent years.

Mr. Yakabe Yoshinori pledged that he would continue his efforts to promote the development of friendship and cooperation between Japan and Viet Nam in the years ahead.
