Da Nang, Salavane boost front work cooperation

On Thursday afternoon, Mr. Ngo Xuan Thang, Chairman of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Committee in Da Nang, and Mr. Khamta Hosongluong, Chairman of the Lao Front Committee for National Construction in Salavane Province, signed the working minutes for the 2023-2025 period.

Under the agreement, the two agencies will exchange experience in publicising policies and guidelines of the two Parties and policies, and laws of the States of Viet Nam and Laos; as well as in building and promoting the strength of the great national unity bloc in implementing patriotic campaigns and movements.

The two sides will strengthen the organisation of cultural, artistic, physical training and sports exchange activities during major holidays and traditional New Year days of the two countries. Heed will on protecting the legitimate rights and interests of the people of the two localities; as well as supporting localities affected by natural disasters, fires and epidemics.

According to Chairman of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Committee in Da Nang Ngo Xuan Thang, each year, Da Nang grants about 100-120 scholarships to Laotian students. Currently, nearly 300 Lao students who receive the Da Nang government-granted scholarships are studying at member schools of the University of Da Nang.

Also, the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Committee in Da Nang will work with the municipal Union of Friendship Organisations and member organisations to implement the homestay programme for Lao students, thereby creating a close solidarity between Lao students and local residents.

Chairman of the Lao Front Committee for National Construction in Salavane Province Khamta Hosongluong expressed his deep gratitude to the Party Committee, government, Front Committee and people of Da Nang for their interest and support for his locality in recent years.

Mr. Khamta Hosongluong hoped that the two local parties will continue educating people from all walks of life about the special friendly relationship between Laos and Viet Nam in general, and between Salavane and Da Nang in particular.
