In his remarks at the 12^th session of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Committee of Da Nang in its 11^th tenure on Monday, municipal Party Committee Deputy Secretary cum People’s Council Chairman Luong Nguyen Minh Triet acknowledged and highly appreciated the operational results of the Municipal Fatherland Front Committee and its chapters at all levels in 2023.

He emphasised that it is forecast in 2024 that the city will continue to face many difficulties and challenges. Therefore, he stressed the need for the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Committee of the city and its chapters at all levels to focus on well implementing tasks set for next year.

The focus should be on innovating voter contact activities, recording voter opinions, strengthening supervision of resolving opinions and recommendations, and applying information technology and social networks in information and propaganda work to the people, he emphasised.

Also, importance should be attached to promoting their role in social supervision and criticism; proposing policies and synthesising opinions of intellectuals, experts, and researchers who contribute to the city's issues; and improving the quality of emulation movements and campaigns.

Heed should be on participating more strongly in campaigning for site clearance at key and dynamic projects, thereby contributing to helping the municipal government speed up the progress of projects in the locality.

Reported at the event, in 2023, the city’s Fatherland Front Committee and its chapters at all levels collected opinions from all walks of life on the draft revised Land Law.

Social monitoring and criticism activities were increasingly effective and high-quality in the context of the city piloting the urban government model. The People's Inspection Board participated in 667 supervisions, detected 230 cases of violations, and made 230 recommendations.

The city’s Fatherland Front Committee and its chapters at all levels raised more than VND 39.9 billion for the "For the Poor" Fund, reaching 159% of the plan. Of this figure, VND7.5 billion went to build 150 Great Solidarity houses for poor households in Dien Bien Province and some areas in the Northwest region; more than VND9.1 billion to repair 366 downgraded Great Solidarity houses; and nearly VND2.9 billion to grant scholarships to 2,962 poor studious students.

In 2024, the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Committee of the city will continue to promote propaganda and mobilise people from all walks of life to implement resolutions, directives and conclusions of the Central Executive Committee, Politburo, Secretariat of the Party Central Committee, and Government and Party Committee of Da Nang; as well as organise Viet Nam Fatherland Front congresses at all levels and the 12^th conference of the Da Nang Fatherland Front Congress in the 2024-2029 term.

The focus will be on completing the quality and effectiveness of the Front's work tasks in 2024 and the local political and socio-economic development tasks.

Emphasis will be laid on improving the quality of the campaigns “All people unite to build new-style rural areas, civilised urban areas” and “Vietnamese people prioritise using Vietnamese goods.

On this occasion, the Standing Committee of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Committee of Da Nang awarded Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of the municipal People's Committee to 10 groups and 3 individuals in recognition of their outstanding achievements in implementing the work of mobilisation and management of the "For the Poor" Fund.

Nine groups were honoured for their excellent achievements in implementing the campaign "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods" in 2023.

The Viet Nam Fatherland Front Committee of Da Nang presented 4 Emulation Flags and 3 Certificates of Merit to its chapters in districts citywide.
