Speaking at the event, municipal Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Van Quang congratulated and appreciated the outstanding results and achievements of the Viet Nam Lawyers' Association over the past year, especially the development of policies and laws.

In addition, the Association organised many scientific seminars and conferences to provide critical comments on draft legal documents; synthesize difficulties and problems; and propose amendments, supplements, and improvement of institutions and laws to meet the practical requirements of social life.

The focus was on innovating the content and forms of law dissemination and education, and creating consensus and consistency in implementing Party policies and guidelines, and State laws.

Secretary Quang said that, in recent times, the Standing Board of the municipal Party Committee has created favourable conditions for the local Lawyers’ Association to operate effectively in accordance with the Party and the central government's viewpoints, policies and directions.

He also highlighted the proactiveness of the Association in law-making work, and law enforcement supervision.

In addition, the Association coordinated with the city's authorities to organise free legal advice and legal aid on complaint resolution, and conciliation at the grassroots level, contributing to raising people's legal awareness, maintaining security and order, and creating conditions for the city's socio-economic development.

In 2024, the Association will continue to carry out the task of developing policies and laws according to the programmes of the National Assembly, the central government and ministries and branches. Priority will be given to issuing a number of important legal documents to prepare comments for association leaders to speak at National Assembly sessions.

Local associations at all levels will continue to carry out their tasks of participating in developing policies and laws based on the plans and instructions of the Central Association and the requests of departments, branches, party committees, and local authorities.
