During his reception on Friday for Mr. Supasit Kocharoenyos, the Governor of Ubon Ratchathani Province in Thailand, Da Nang People's Committee Chairman Le Trung Chinh asked for support from the Thai visitor to call on businesses from his province to participate in the International East-West Economic Corridor (EWEC) Trade and Tourism Fair held in the city every August.

According to Chairman Chinh, the fair provides the good opportunity for businesses from Viet Nam, Laos, and Thailand on EWEC to promote their products and make trade connections.

The city leader asked Mayor Supasit Kocharoenyos to coordinate with Da Nang to open direct flights between Thailand and Viet Nam in order to create conditions for the two sides to increase exchange activities and develop the tourism sector. In 2023, Da Nang welcomed a total of 177,885 Thai tourists, and Thailand ranked 3^rd in the top 10 market shares of international visitors to Da Nang.

He expressed his hope that the Thai visitor will act as a bridge to appeal for potential businesses in Ubon Ratchathani Province to invest in Da Nang.

The city is committed to creating a favourable, effective and safe investment environment for Thai investors in particular, and those from foreign countries in general to invest in Da Nang, Mr. Le Trung Chinh said.

On behalf of the delegation, Provincial Governor Supasit Kocharoenyos thanked the city leaders for their respectful welcome. He took the opportunity to brief the hosts on his province’s geographical location and socio-economic development situation.

He remarked the provincial government has been focusing on developing commercial fields to contribute to promoting the role and advantages on the East-West Economic Corridor.

Regarding the suggestions from Da Nang leaders, Mayor Supasit Kocharoenyos expressed his joy and high agreement, saying that such cooperation will promote the relationship between the two localities in the near future.

The mayor informed that Ubon Ratchathani Province has established friendly and cooperative relations with such Vietnamese provinces as Quang Tri and Thua Thien Hue. He voiced his hope that Ubon Ratchathani Province and Da Nang will be established a cooperative relationship in the time to come.
