Da Nang visits ARM Semiconductor Company in the US
Within the framework of their ongoing working trip to the US, a delegation of Da Nang’s officials, led by municipal People’s Committee Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh, had a working session with the Advanced RISC Machines (ARM) Ltd., based in San Jose City, California on February 29 (at local time).

Vice Chairman of the municipal People's Committee Ho Ky Minh informed an overview of the city’s investment and business environment and preferential policies in the semiconductor field, and its business development directions. In particular, the city identified semiconductor as its opportunity and growth driver in the coming time.
He added that the purpose of the working trip was to have in-depth contact with partners who showed their keen interest in promoting cooperation and investment in semiconductor and artificial intelligence (AI) in Da Nang.
Currently, the city is building a project on developing semiconductor chips and microchips in the city, as well as specific mechanisms and policies in order to attract experts and investors at both home and abroad to work, research, and cooperate in training human resources for semiconductor and AI, and create a more attractive investment environment for businesses in the fields.
The city leader pledged that the city will always accompany and support investors in implementing projects and production and business activities in the city, aiming to share common values and benefits.
Mr. Stephen Ozoigbo, Director of the ARM Company, said that ARM is a company that specialises in providing chip architecture designs and the leading chip designs in most smartphones.
ARM's customers are the biggest names in technology and chips, including Apple, Nvidia, Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Samsung, Intel and TSMC.

Till date, the company has established a very close cooperative relationship with Viet Nam, and has organised meetings and working sessions with central ministries and branches of the country.
He added that the ARM Company is willing to welcome and support Da Nang in cooperating in training human resources and attracting investment in semiconductor and AI, especially in the context of the enactment of the CHIPS Act opening up many opportunities to access capital allocated for training in these fields.
He commented that this is a very suitable time for ARM Company and Da Nang to strengthen cooperation. ARM Company is very interested in public and private sector education and training, and has designed online training programmes for the field of IC design.
The company wishes to expand its training network in Da Nang and plans to visit and work in the city on March 11 with the participation of VMO Company (ARM's partner in training) and the system of ARM's customers from South Korea, and Taiwan (China).
In addition, the VMO Company proposed to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on tripartite cooperation between ARM Company, VMO Company and the Da Nang Semiconductor and Artificial Intelligence Centre for Research and Training (DSAC) to deploy ARM platform training in Da Nang.
After the working session, DSAC will continue to work with ARM Company and VMO Company to sign MoUs and implement training programmes in the near future, and connect ARM Company to work with universities in Da Nang.
Da Nang is committed to facilitating the AR company to expand its branch in the city, supporting students with peace of mind to study ARM programmes, and providing excellent students after the training courses for ARM Company.
