Da Nang People’s Committee Vice Chairman Ho Ki Minh voiced his hope that Da Nang and Sichuan Tianfu New Area, China, will exchange cooperation and share experience in tourism, hi-tech, and digital transformation in urban management and free trade zones in the near future.

The city leader made the remark while receiving Mr. Zhou Xianyi, Secretary of the Party Committee of Sichuan Tianfu New Area in China’s Sichuan Province, on Monday.

During the reception for the Chinese guest, Vice Chairman Minh informed about the city’s development orientation, with a focus on key fields such as tourism, service, semiconductor, information technology, and high-tech industries.

Especially for tourism activities, Da Nang is considered an attractive tourist destination with many unique and impressive tourism products. China currently ranks 2^nd in the top 10 international tourist markets to Da Nang, he added.

Mr. Minh proposed that the two sides continue to cooperate in developing the tourism sector, and reopening direct flights between China and Da Nang, aimed at creating favourable conditions for Da Nang and Chinese investors, businesses, and tourists to travel and promote investment.

For his part, Secretary Zhou Xianyi expressed his impression on the city's modern development, and its green, clean and beautiful tourism environment.

The Chinese guest informed that the Sichuan Tianfu New Area is located in the southern part of Chengdu City, Sichuan Province, China. Currently, the locality is focusing on developing the fields of electricity, electronics, automotive equipment, and attracting international investment into Tianfu Software Park.

Chengdu City had two international airports and had direct flights to Da Nang before COVID-19. Da Nang is emerging as the ideal vacation destination for tourists from Chengdu City in particular and from China in general.

Secretary Zhou Xianyi believed that the two sides will continue to boost cooperation in tourism, industrial production, hi-tech and free trade zones in the coming time.
