When receiving Mr. Mori Takero, the newly-accredited Consul General of Japan in Da Nang on Wednesday, Chairman of the municipal Union of Friendship Organisations Nguyen Ngoc Binh wished the Japanese diplomat success during his working term in the city.

The host also briefed his Japanese guest on the position, role, and outstanding activities of the Union and the Viet Nam - Japan Friendship Association in Da Nang.

Mr. Binh revealed that, in 2024, the union plans to coordinate with the Consulate General of Japan in Da Nang to organise a number of international events such as the Viet Nam - Japan cultural exchange festival, the Japanese singing contest 2024, and an exhibition of handmade toys for young people and teenagers in Da Nang.

He, therefore, took the opportunity to ask for support from the Japanese diplomat to boost the connection between Da Nang and friendship and peace organisations of Japanese localities to ensure the successful organisation of these aforementioned cultural activities and events; as well as call on more Japanese non-governmental organisations to Da Nang to carry our social welfare activities.

In reply, newly-accredited Consul General of Japan in Da Nang Mori Takero hoped that the Union and the Viet Nam - Japan Friendship Association in the city will continue supporting him to successfully complete his working term.

In the coming time, the Consulate General of Japan in Da Nang will introduce more Japanese businesses to visit and seek investment and cooperation opportunities in the city, as well as organise cultural and people-to-people exchange programmes and events between Japan and Da Nang, he affirmed.
