During his reception for the Da Nang visitors, Mayor Hong Joon-pyo informed them about the socio-economic development situation of Daegu City, saying that Viet Nam remained Daegu's third-largest trade partner. Currently, there are flights between Daegu to Vietnamese cities, including Da Nang.

For his part, Secretary Quang expressed his joy when meeting Mayor Hong Joon-pyo again in Daegu, especially in the context of the two localities celebrating the 20th anniversary of establishing the bilateral friendly and cooperative relations (2004 - 2024).

Mr. Quang highly appreciated the increasingly effective cooperation between Da Nang and Daegu. He said that Da Nang has currently established cooperative relationships with 49 localities in 22 countries around the world, and Daegu was one of the localities that have most effectively implemented bilateral cooperation programmes.

Over the past 20 years, Da Nang and Daegu have promoted and carried out many cooperation programmes in the fields of investment, trade, tourism, environment, culture, education, and employee, student and pupil exchanges.

He proposed that the two cities continue to effectively implement the content of the cooperation agreement in the new period.

Accordingly, the two localities will concentrate on strengthening cultural exchange and people-to-people diplomacy activities, and organising student exchange programmes.

Also, emphasis will be laid on creating the most favourable conditions for Da Nang and Daegu businesses to learn about the investment environment, and exchange business cooperation opportunities in the fields of information technology, software, and tourism.

He hoped that the Korean official will continue to do his utmost to promote friendly relations, good cooperation, and mutual trust between Da Nang and Daegu in the time to come.
