Da Nang officials work with Pangyo Techno Valley and Dentium Co., Ltd. in RoK

As part of their ongoing business trip to the Republic of Korea (RoK), the high-level delegation of Da Nang, led by Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Van Quang, had working session with leaders of the Pangyo Techno Valley, on Monday.

At the meeting, a spokesperson for the Pangyo Techno Valley said that the RoK government has been laying emphasis on developing the artificial intelligence (AI) industry. Therefore, an AI cluster has been established in the Pangyo Technology Valley with the aim to provide the necessary conditions for South Korean AI startups to go global, as well as support AI startups worldwide to effectively operate in the country. The purpose was to transform the Pangyo Technology Valley into an innovative AI cluster connected to information technology and biotechnology.

In addition to the AI ​​cluster, the Pangyo Technology Valley has a centre for AI-based self-driving cars. The centre is a place for RoK startups to research, develop and test automated driving technology and 5G technology.

For his part, Secretary Quang thanked the leaders of the Pangyo Techno Valley for their sincere and warm welcome. He, at the same time, informed them about the city’s development situation.

The city leader also revealed that the hi-tech industry was one of Da Nang’s priority aspects, and the city has issued special mechanisms and policies to strongly develop the field. He also voiced his hope that, in the coming time, the Pangyo Techno Valley, Da Nang's Hi-Tech Park, and innovation centres will continue to be connected to each other.

Covering an area of 450,000m2, the Pangyo Techno Valley is an industrial complex in the city of Pangyo, Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, RoK. The compex is considered to be the Silicon Valley of RoK, and a global-scale Research and Development centre for information technology, biotechnology, cultural technology and network technology.

Also on the same day, the Da Nang delegation paid a visit to the Dentium company.

Receiving the Da Nang visitors, Mr. Chung Sung Min, Chairman of the Board of Directors, CEO of Dentium Company informed them about the company's business operations and strategic investment directions in Da Nang.

On behalf of the working group, Secretary Quang congratulated the company on its remarkable results from research to application and development of medical products, especially in the dental field. He added that Da Nang will cooperate with the company to implement related projects in the future.

With more than 5 years of operation in the Da Nang High-Tech Park, the Dentium Co., Ltd. has invested in two projects in the city. They are the US$ 20 million ICT Vina medical equipment factory, and the US$60 million ICT Vina II medical equipment factory. Accordingly, the two factories specialise in producing, conducting research and developing high-tech products to serve specific medical needs in the dental field such as CT scanners, CAD/CAM scanners, CAD/CAM lathes, dental grinder motors, dental implants (artificial) and dental chairs (with or without dental equipment).
