Da Nang Party Secretary visits Samsung Electronics' semiconductor factory

Da Nang Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Van Quang paid a visit to Samsung Electronics's semiconductor cluster in Pyeongtaek City, Gyeonggi Province as part of his official visit to the Republic of Korea (RoK).

Stressing Da Nang’s priority given to the semiconductor industry in the coming time, Secretary Quang told leaders of the semiconductor cluster that Da Nang was one of the pioneering localities in implementing the Vietnamese Government's policy on developing this field.

Based on promoting its strengths, Da Nang has been building a development strategy with a focus on chip and microchip design, and gradually developing testing and packaging. Additionally, the city is concentrating on training high-quality human resources for this field, and at the same time preparing the necessary conditions to meet the needs of businesses and investors.

Notably, Da Nang has got permission from the National Assembly of Viet Nam to apply outstanding preferential policies for strategic investors and partners in the field of semiconductor industry such as tax incentives, land access, infrastructure, and human resource development policies

The city leader took the opportunity to ask Samsung to seek investment opportunities in the locality and support the city in training high-quality human resources for the abovementioned field.

For his part, Mr. Lee Jin Wook, Deputy General Director of Samsung Electronics's semiconductor cluster, informed the Da Nang delegation about the visit by Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on July 3.

Samsung highly appreciated Viet Nam's positivity and potential in participating in the global semiconductor supply chain.

Director Lee Jin Wook also expressed his impression on Da Nang's efforts in building the city into a potential semiconductor investment destination in Viet Nam.

During the meeting, the city delegation was introduced by Samsung Electronics leaders about the history of formation and development of Samsung in the field of semiconductor chips as well as the group's latest production technologies.
