As part of their ongoing business trip to the Republic of Korea (RoK), the high-level delegation of Da Nang, led by Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Van Quang, met with Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism of RoK Yoo In Chon on Tuesday.

Secretary Quang briefed Mr. Yoo In Chon on his city’s development orientations and goals, especially tourism - one of the city's spearhead economic sectors.

He also expressed his desire to promote cultural cooperation between the two Ministries of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Viet Nam and RoK in general, and between Da Nang and Korean localities in particular in the coming time.

Along with that, he proposed Da Nang and Korean localities strengthen the organisation of cultural exchange activities such as exhibitions, performing arts, and cultural days and weeks, in a bid to promote mutual understanding and friendship between the people of the two sides.

The city leader asked for help from RoK government to have policies and plans to support Da Nang’s cultural industry sector with a focus on the fields of event organisation, performing arts and cinema.

He took the opportunity to invite Mr. Yoo In Chon to attend the Viet Nam - Korea Festival slated to take place in the city from August 16 - 18, 2024.
