Da Nang Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Van Quang chaired a reception on Friday for Mr. Park Hyun Gook, Chairman of Bonghwa District, Gyeongsangbuk Province, the Republic of Korea (RoK).

Mr. Quang expressed his joy at Mr. Park Hyun Gook’s visit and attendance at the ongoing Viet Nam - Korea Festival 2024 in the city. He also took the opportunity to thank the government and people of Bonghwa District for their warm welcome for the Da Nang delegation during their visit to RoK last July.

He said Da Nang always accompanied RoK and Bonghwa District as well in building the "K-Viet Nam Valley" in the Korean district.

The city Party chief expressed his wish that the "K-Viet Nam valley" will be the place where many cultural events will take place, especially cultural exchange festivals between Viet Nam and RoK, thereby tightening the friendship between the two countries.

Mr. Quang also suggested Bonghwa District and Hoa Vang District soon sign a Memorandum of Understanding on establishing friendly relations and cooperation in cultural exchange, labour export and other aspects which both sides have strengths.

For his part, Mr. Park Hyun Gook thanked the city leaders for the respectful welcome to the delegation. He informed that Bonghwa District, Gyeongsangbuk Province is the only place in RoK that still retains relics of descendants of the Ly Dynasty, Viet Nam. Originating from this historical origin, the construction of the "K-Viet Nam valley" aims to contribute to promoting and deepening the relationship between RoK and Viet Nam.

Mr. Park Hyun Gook wished to receive the attention and coordination of the government and people of Viet Nam in general, and Da Nang in particular in the coming time, so that the "K-Viet Nam Valley" project can be completed as scheduled.

In the time ahead, Bonghwa District will connect and cooperate with Hoa Vang District, contributing to tightening the friendly relationship between Korean localities and Da Nang.
