In his closing speech delivered at a hybrid conference on August 31 to introduce and deploy the National Assembly’s Resolution No. 136/2024/QH15 on the organisation of urban administration and pilot implementation of special mechanisms and policies for the development of Da Nang, municipal Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Van Quang thanked Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh for his profound and specific instructions. He said that the Prime Minister's instructions opened up many directions and solutions for the city to effectively implement the resolution in the coming time.

Secretary Quang said that Da Nang was happy to welcome mechanisms and policies that were both unique and outstanding, with great breakthroughs in the local socio-economic development.

He, however, clearly saw the responsibility, difficulties and challenges in implementing the institutionalisation of these policies in practice, especially many new and unprecedented issues. Included are the establishment of the Da Nang Free Trade Zone; the pilot implementation of the mechanism for exchanging and clearing carbon credits; attracting strategic investors in semiconductor and artificial intelligence industries; policies on science and technology controlled testing and development; and "one-stop" administrative mechanism in investment procedures in the Da Nang Free Trade Zone.

Aside from the concretisation of Resolution No. 136/2024/QH15, the city is committed to enhancing the business and investment environment, accelerating administrative reform, removing difficulties and obstacles for businesses, and fully preparing planning and infrastructure conditions to welcome investment capital flows, Mr. Quang said.

At the same time, the city will prepare land funds associated with synchronous infrastructure investment, and specific projects and resources to implement Resolution No. 136/2024/QH15. In the immediate future, it will speed up investment in completing traffic infrastructure, connecting sub-zones in Da Nang Free Trade Zone, promoting the opening of more international flights, and expediting the construction of the Lien Chieu Port, a cargo warehouse at Da Nang International Airport, and other identified technical infrastructure works, he added.

The city Party chief Quang expressed his belief that with the aspiration, the determination, solidarity and unanimity of the Party Committee, the government and the people of the city; the attention, leadership and direction of the Central Government; and the support and companionship of investors and businesses, Da Nang will have comprehensive innovations, and stronger and more sustainable breakthroughs in the coming time.
