400 local residents receive free medical check-ups and medicines
50 local physicans from the Da Nang Young Doctors Association gave free medical examinations, medicines and gifts totalling over 60 million VND to 400 people in Hoa Vang District’s Hoa Bac Commune.

The event was in response to the 2013 Charity Programme for Community Health which was launched by the Vietnam Youth Federation (VYF) and the Viet Nam Young Doctors Association. The programme is running in 63 cities and provinces nationwide, starting from 19 May.
In Da Nang particularly, the event will last until late August with a series of meaningful activities. These will include providing free medical check-ups, medicines and healthcare consultation services. In addition, gifts will be presented to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers and social policy families in Hoa Vang District on 15 June, and to local people in Quang Nam Province’s Phu Ninh District on 4 July. There will also be many other activities including voluntary blood donation campaigns and hand-washing days with soap to prevent hand-foot-mouth disease, along with providing first aid training courses for pupils from 3 local primary schools.
