Under the strict assessment criteria, the honorees were required to fulfil their political tasks well, have outstanding qualifications and high ethical standards, set good examples for others to follow, and maintain good social relationships.  Many of them also showed their passion for researching into science and brought their remarkable initiatives for the city’s development to fruition.  Their innovations have helped to save billions of VND for the State.

In addition, some of them were also honoured by local agencies and departments for their great devotion over a long period.

Addressing the event, Deputy Secretary Tho stressed the need for the honorees to exert more efforts to uphold their ethics, fulfil their tasks well, and make their units stronger in order to contribute to the city’s progress.  He also urged them to become actively involved in the “Studying and Following President Ho Chi Minh’s Moral Example” campaign to increase the number of outstanding individuals.

The city leader asked local agencies and departments to establish accurate criteria tools for evaluating and selecting outstanding local government staff in the future.  The city will strive to reach its target of becoming a prosperous, civilised, peaceful and liveable city with a healthy and clean environment by 2020.
