In response to World Environment Day (5 June), 10 of over 200 businesses located in Da Nang’s industrial parks and export processing zones have signed commitments to build “A Clean, Green and Beautiful Business”.

Under their commitments, they agree to comply with the regulations about environmental protection, with a focus on dust and industrial waste treatment, in order to meet the city’s requirements as well as keeping their working places tidy and clean.  In addition, the businesses and their trade union organisations have been asked to get involved in cleaning up the environment, planting trees and grasses at their facilities, along with actively participating in any environmental protection activities launched by the local authorities.

After the signing ceremony, representatives of the VINAMILK Corporation, the Acecook Viet Nam Co Ltd, the Danapha Pharmaceutical JSC, and other companies cleaned up the environment, planted grasses and dredged drains inside and outside their facilities, as well as repaired their ventilation systems.

Also to mark the occasion, 1,500 leaders and employees of the Daiwa Viet Nam Co Ltd collected rubbish along a 2km section of Xuan Thieu Beach.
