Many beaches in Da Nang have been crowded recently from early morning through into the evening during these hot summer days.  Son Tra District’s Man Thai beach is an exception, seeing very few swimmers. 

Although the public bathing area at this beach was put into use in early 2012 at a total cost of around 8 billion VND, there are hardly any swimmers using it. 

Many fishing vessels anchor off the beach

Pollution at this beach is one of the major problems.  Dozens of fishing vessels from Man Thai and Tho Quang wards anchor off the beach every day, and this is a major cause of pollution. 

In addition, there are many shortcomings in the design of the public bathing facilities, including shower faucets that are too high, broken door locks, damaged doors, and the freshwater storage tank is too deep.

The city’s relevant agencies should take effective measures as soon as possible to deal with this situation in order to make Man Thai beach an attractive destination for swimmers.
