Between January and June, Da Nang’s Youth Union organisations have been actively involved in building a civilised urban lifestyle, and have encouraged over 34,000 local Youth Union members to help clean up the environment.

This information was released at yesterday’s meeting of the city’s Youth Union, held to review the Youth Union’s activities and local movements for local teenagers and children over the past 6 months.

During the review period, local Youth Union members took part in many activities including planting about 1,000 trees on streets in Hoa Vang District’s upgraded rural areas, removing over 15,000 illegal advertisements, cleaning up a 22km-long section of seaside streets, and collecting rubbish from the local beaches.  All wards and communes have implemented the “Streets under the Management of Young People” campaign effectively.  Special attention has been paid to promoting the “Doing Voluntary Activities on Saturdays” and the “Green, Clean and Beautiful Sundays” movements, as well as publicising laws to local residents.
