Surgeons at the Da Nang Maternity and Paediatrics Hospital have just successfully performed surgery to remove the left lung of 6-week-old Tran Ngoc Gia Huy from Quang Nam Province’s Thang Binh District.  This is the first time that the hospital has carried out a pulmonary resection on such a young baby.

The boy had been admitted to the hospital due to shortness of breath along with breastfeeding difficulties.  He is now gradually recovering after the surgery, and he is receiving oxygen therapy.  His mother is now able to successfully breastfeed him.
