On Tuesday, the Da Nang Department of Transport and its consultants discussed re-arranging the traffic network on the western end of the Rong (Dragon) Bridge where, at present, road users are facing traffic chaos.

Following approval by the department’s director, Mr Dang Viet Dung, the city’s Transport Engineering Consulting Company (TECCO5) will install a traffic light system to control the traffic flows and upgrade the current intersection.

A 2-phase traffic light system will be installed at the intersection on the western end of the bridge in order to decrease by half the volume of vehicles, as well as to avoid traffic conflicts.  In addition, a 70m-long lane divider will be erected connecting Nguyen Van Linh Street, the intersection, and the bridge’s approach.

The above-mentioned plans will be submitted to the local authorities for approval very soon.
